Seasonal Menus

As of 1^st October, we will be introducing our new seasonal menus. Our winter menu will commence on this date and will run through till 31^st March. Our summer menu will begin the 1^st April until the end of September.

We would be very grateful if parents/carers could suggest hot lunches and tea time ideas. Perhaps tell us your child’s favourite meal….? You can make suggestions via our comments box (located in the entrance) or speak to a member of staff.

If you would like to see our ideas so far, please speak to Laura B.

Library Bus

The Library Bus comes to visit us every other week. Tom, Our mobile librarian has a brilliant selection of books for the children to choose from.

We encourage the children to line up and take it in turns to get their book stamped. The children then bring their books back to nursery, where they are used during circle times and small group work.

During the summer holidays the library bus has become busy with other members of the community using this service; therefore we will be continuing this activity on the week commencing 6^th September.

Cancer Research Race for life

On Wednesday 21st July there is a team of staff taking part in the North Weald Race for Life. This is an event which we as a nursery have supported for many years and have raised in excess of £1000 for. Our Running (or walking in my case!!) team are Amy, Laura C, Carly, Emma, Gemma, and Myself. We will be supported on the night by our cheering team of Julie, Amanda, Laura B, Anna, Luke (who would take part if allowed to but it is a women’s only event) Jess, Jes , Sharon and Maureen. Summer Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Finally, Summer has arrived, and hopefully it is here to stay. The weather has been unpredictable, however the children have really enjoyed spending large parts of their day playing in garden, eating snack and reading stories in the shade when the weather has been good. Some children still do not have sun hats, could you ensure that your child has a sun hat at nursery during the summer months. Please can you make sure that you have read and signed our sun cream policy, can I remind you that our policy states that parents and carers are responsible for applying sun cream to their child in the morning, then staff will reapply in the afternoon. If your child only attends afternoon sessions, you need to apply sun cream before you drop them off.

Some of our Rumpleteazers are leaving for school throughout the summer. Please can I remind all parents that we require one months written notice if your child is due to leave. We wish all the school leavers all the best at “Big School” and we are sure they will enjoy their next step in their educational journey! Please send us photographs of them in their new uniforms.

Children who attended nursery on Thursday 3^rd June, took part in a sponsored walk around the school grounds. The child and staff had lots of fun and all money raised will help the charity Banardo’s. Please can all sponsor money be handed in by Friday 18^th June. Hope you enjoy looking at the photos on the blog!

The blog has recently been updated, therefore please feel free to comment on new events and photo’s. We really enjoy reading your views and opinions and it’s a great way to communicate with each other! Please speak to a member of staff for our recent password. A big thank you to everyone who completed the Self Evaluation Forms. It’s lovely to hear such positive comments about our nursery. Some parents have made suggestions and we are working very hard to implement these new ideas.

We would like to introduce Luke to our nursery. Luke is based in the Mungojerrie room and is working towards a Level 2 in Child care and Education. We wish him the best of luck in completing his studies.

Congratulations to Sharon, who became Mrs Butler on 5^th June! We wish Sharon and Kevin the best of luck for the future!
