Every day at Rum Tum Tugger’s provides children with new and exciting opportunities as well as the chance to revisit previous learning and favourite activities. There are always routine events that make the foundations of our day which are familiar and reassuring to children such as meals and snacks, circles times, personal care for those in nappies and rest times. Meals provide the children with wonderful social sessions where children can learn independence skills and help others to develop theirs. Rum Tum Tugger’s actively promotes Healthy eating and is able to cater for food allergies dietary requirements and parental preferences.
During each half day session every child will have the opportunity to experiment, create, investigate, sing and dance. They will make choices, influence the events of the day and express ideas and feelings. Children are encouraged to bring in items from home introducing their peers to a wider world of ideas.
The nursery is divided into 4 rooms. The Tiny Tugger’s 3 months to actively mobile; The Toddler Tugger’s Mobile to 2; The Mungojerrie’s 2 years to the term after their 3rd Birthday and the Rumpleteaser’s, funded to school age. Through out the nursery we promote the six areas of learning an development that are incorporated into the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing all children with effective provision where observation and assessment are woven throughout. Each room has a dedicated qualified room leader that heads a team of staff who are responsible for the daily planning and implementation of activities which form the basis of each child’s care.
