To ensure that every session runs smoothly
and safely,
the nurseries have set a series
of policies and guidelines.
Below are statements of the central policies and a list of those others
that we use. For full details, please use the Contact Us facility.
Our mission statement is:
“ Rum Tum Tugger’s Nurseries are community based facilities
providing the highest standard of childcare for children
in the age range of 3 months to 5 years
. As a team, we aim to ensure that the social,
emotional and educational needs of each child will be met and provided
for, using the best possible care and attention. Our objective is
two fold. Firstly, to give parent’s their first choice in childcare
measured by the children’s enjoyment of the early years experience
and secondly, to recognise that a child’s needs and safety are
paramount and must override all other considerations.”
Behaviour Policy Statement; “By positively promoting
good behaviour, valuing co-operation and by demonstrating a caring
attitude, children develop as responsible members of society.”
Health and Safety Statement: “We aim to
take all measures to ensure that the nursery environment is safe and
secure, minimising the risk of injury from hazards and damage to property.
We take responsibility, as far as is practicably possible, to extend
this protection to all users,
workers and visitors to our nurseries.”
Equal Opportunities Statement: “We believe
that it is the right of every child and worker, regardless of ability
or needs, to be treated as an equal, with due respect; no religion,
sex or culture is perceived to be inherently superior to any other
and the elimination of racism and sexism can only be to the benefit
of a child.”
Parental Involvement Statement: “ We believe that parent/carer
involvement is an integral part of good childcare. We aim to ensure
that all parents/carers feel welcome and comfortable in their child’s
environment. All nursery staff members are committed to providing,
through interaction with parents/carers, the highest quality childcare.”
Child Protection Statement: “The nursery
has a duty to be aware that abuse does exist in our society. Our duty
is to report any suspicions of abuse or neglect to the Local Authority,
which, under the provisions of “The Children Act, 1989 has a
duty to investigate these matters. The nursery will follow those procedures
set out by the Local Authority.” Other policies
include: - Car Parking, Dropping Off and Child Collection
Policy, Emergency Evacuation Plan, Child Safety and Security, Exclusion
Periods for Communicable Diseases, Settling-In Policy, Complaints
Procedure, Accident Procedures, Medication Policy and Admissions Policy.
