Rum Tum Tugger's
Nursery in Harlow was registered by Ofsted in February 2006. It reflects the methods
that have proven successful in our Epping setting, blending Montessori methods
of learning with traditional techniques to create a vibrant and inspirational
play space were children and babies can develop in a safe and secure environment.
The directors, Hayley Martin-Burns and Jil Pascale, enjoy active daily roles as
Business Manager and Head of Nursery.
Set in the old Infants Department
of Latton Green School, the facilities at Harlow include a tranquil baby unit
for our Tiny Tuggers. It has nine spaces for children under the age of 2 years.
It comprises separate rooms for restful sleep and active play and is watched over
carefully by experienced, dedicated carers. In three other vast rooms, groups
of up to 16 children, in the age range of 2 - 5 years, enjoy a variety of activities
that are planned around their individual needs. Each session will give children
the opportunity to interact with their peers and to widen their experience with
activities involving children of differing ages and abilities.
The children
have access to plenty of outdoor space to encourage their physical development
with ball games, ride on toys, slides and climbing frames.
The nursery
is open Monday to Friday. It's core opening hours are 8am to 6pm but an option
of Early Start (7.30am) and Late Finish (6.30pm) is also available. There are
full-time and part-time places on offer, as well as a school day from 8am to 3pm.
The nursery closes for bank holidays and for 5 additional working days at Christmas.
Daily fees reflect three age ranges. Discounts are available for full-time
places and for siblings. The nursery offsets the governments Early Years Funding
against monthly fees. This is introduced in the academic term after a child's
thirds birthday. We are also registered for payment with childcare vouchers and
the TEDS Management System.
The nursery operates an equal opportunities
policy for both staff and children alike and works hard to integrate children
with a variety of special needs into all aspects of nursery life.
Latton
Green School is situated alongside Harlow Common. It is a short distance from
Southern Way and has plenty of parking spaces making dropping off and collecting
as easy as possible.
