Each day at a Rum Tum Tugger’s Nursery has a surprising
number of different activities. There are always routine events
that make the foundation of the day familiar to our children, including
meals and snacks, outdoor playtime and circle time. Meal and snack
times are wonderful social sessions where children are given the
opportunity to develop independence skills and to mix with friends
of different ages. Our fresh produce is sourced from a local organic
outlet and we offer the children a wide range of freshly cooked
meals including traditional roasts, veggie curry, chinese chicken
and sausage casserole. We place a strong emphasis on healthy eating,
choosing low allergen items wherever possible and we are experienced
in providing a range of specialist diets including dairy and gluten
free options.
During each session, the children are the given the opportunity to try their hand at all sorts of carefully selected events and activities, matched to their individual needs. In every half day session, each child will make, create, experiment, listen, sing and dance. They will make choices, influence the events of the days and express ideas. Our equipment is selected to offer a diverse range of opportunities and we support this further by spontaneous opportunities, the chance to share something personal from home or by arranging for visitors to introduce a wider world of ideas.
Rumpelteazers, Ages 3 to 5
For children in the age range of 3 to 5, the activities will promote
positive outcomes in the six Early
Learning Goals that make up the Foundation Stage curriculum
that all registered nurseries must adhere to. This ensures that
every child attending our nurseries is offered inspirational activities
that will cover 6 specified areas of learning; Communication, Language
and Literacy, Mathematical Development, Creative Development, Physical
Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World and Personal,
Social and Emotional Development.
Tiny Tuggers and Mungojerries, From Birth to 3 Years of Age
For babies and toddlers up to the age of 3, a session mirrors the
physical needs of each of our little ones. We ask for a parent’s
advice about daily routines for feeding and sleeping. Around these
individual requirements, we develop a regime of play, centred on
the Governments Birth
to Three Matters framework, which will constantly evolve with
each child’s developmental milestones. Continuity of care is so
important for this very young age group that whilst your child is
one of our “Tiny Tugger’s”, we strive to ensure that each child
has a dedicated key carer.
